'Wizarding World of Harry Potter' theme park announces June 18 grand opening -

Universal Orlando announced that the Grand Opening day of the new theme park, the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter," will be June 18, 2010. The theme park is based on the bestselling 7 novel-series by J. K. Rowling and the 8 films adapted from the books by Warner Bros.

The theme park, located as part of Universal Orlando, will include one featured ride called "Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey." The ride makes use of new technology to immerse guests in a "360-degree theme park experience" and will include the "first-ever combination of live-action, advanced robotic technology and innovative filmmaking - specially designed and developed for this brand-new adventure."  Guests will visit Dumbledore's office, Defense Against the Dark Arts Classroom, Gryffindor common room, Room of Requirement, and other locations on the ride. Other rides in the park include "Dragon Challenge" and "Flight of the Hippogriff."
